The minimum age for rafting or kayaking is 12 years old.

For safety reasons, all paddlers are required to wear a life jacket while on the water. Our smallest life jacket fits children weighing 30–55 pounds, so unfortunately, most 1 year olds are too small to meet that requirement. Children aged 11 and under must ride with an adult in a tandem kayak.

No prior experience is necessary for our kayak rentals. Our routes are beginner-friendly, and we provide basic instructions and safety equipment to help you feel comfortable on the water. 

Light rain is common, especially in the summer, and rentals typically continue as planned. However, in the event of severe or unsafe weather conditions, we will cancel affected reservations and issue a full refund. 

No need, life jackets are provided with every rental. If you prefer to bring your own, you're welcome to use it.

Captiva Island is home to a variety of wildlife, including dolphins, manatees, sea turtles, ospreys, and other coastal birds. While we can't guarantee sightings, it's common to encounter some of these amazing animals during your visit. 

As much as we love animals, pets are not allowed on our kayaks for safety reasons.

Parking at McCarthy’s Marina is limited. If you're staying nearby, we recommend walking to avoid delays. Otherwise, the marina charges $5 for parking, which covers the duration of your rental or tour. 

All participants must sign a waiver and minors (under age 18) must  have a guardian/adult sign for them.

We provide you with two rods, a cooler, a life jacket, and a paddle. If you prefer to bring your own fishing rods and equipment, you're welcome to use it.
